Vietnam impresses the tourists by a great number of historical monuments. Vietnam’s Cham ruins are the remnants of one of the most powerful ancient civilizations. Historic sites, the relics of this ancient renaissance can also be found in some museums of the country. One of them - The Cham Museum is located in Da Nang. Museum was started by the French early in the 20th century. There are statues and artifacts that are more than 1500 years old. Most visitors, coming to Vietnam, are surprised by the incredible beauty of its natural spots: the Red River Delta in the north, the Mekong Delta in the south. The eclectic mix of old and new can be found in Ho Chi Minh City (still fondly called Saigon by the locals). Nha Rong Whart, Notre Dame Cathedral (Grand Cathedral), and Cu Chi Tunnel are main attractions of the city. The ancient former imperial capital, Hué, takes visitors back to a time of concubines and eunuchs. Hue Citadel is worth visiting. It is a system of three circles of ramparts. The past and the present are encapsulated in Son Tay Town, where the tourists can find hard sandstone wall with one gate on each side.
